I'm sure everyone recognizes the institution of marriage as one of the many points of pressure for young people, especially women. In many parts of the world, women are raised to aspire to marriage, which unfortunately makes them attach so much importance to the Mrs. When they don't achieve that, they begin to feel like failures and society mocks them all the same. I agree that men are also victims, however, rarely policed.
I do hope that in the future, our perspectives will shift to raising children to become adults who do not need marriage to feel complete.
