If I had to choose between movies and books, I would choose movies because I don't like to read much. I have always hated studying because there's too much pressure, and I didn't pay much attention unless it was for an exam. However, I do study and try to achieve the best results, as my parents expect me to, but I don't enjoy studying otherwise.
Since my childhood, I've always been a big fan of watching movies. When I was a kid, I used to watch movies on television, and now as an adult, I watch movies on my mobile device, as things have changed. I feel that movies have left a significant impact on my life. The reason I love to watch movies is that I get to broaden my mind and gain more knowledge.
Movies have helped me a lot to stay relaxed, especially since I have been suffering from anxiety recently. I really wanted to divert my mind with something whenever I felt sad, and movies are the only thing that have always helped me. When I watch a great movie, it really improves my mood, and I often feel like I could step into the movie world. Some movies with happy themes make me happy too, but if I watch sad movies, it makes me more anxious. That's why I don't like to watch movies with sad endings, as they leave a significant impact on me.
I'm truly a movie person. If anyone wants to hang out with me, I might get bored, but if they talk about watching movies in the theater, I would be more than happy. Also, if I want to discuss a topic, movies would be my first priority. I actually love to discuss movies with anyone; I feel that discussing something common will help grow the bond. Well, I'm good at making conversations, but what I really want to talk about is my personal favorite movie. If that person hasn't watched it yet, I would try to give a good review so that they would feel inclined to watch it.
When I'm watching a movie with someone, I often stare at them to see if they are paying attention, and they find it weird. I just really have high hopes when I try to make someone else watch that movie with me, so I try to gauge their reaction while watching. If someone is not watching it properly, it makes me sad. I don't know why, but this has happened often. Even if I watch movies on Discord with friends, I expect them to react vocally, as I tend to do that often.
One day, I was watching a movie with my mom, and we rarely do this kind of activity together because some movies have 18+ content that I can't watch in front of my parents. So, I hardly find a family movie that I can watch with my mom. Later on, she noticed that I kept staring at her, and after a while, she got angry and said, 'What are you doing exactly?' I replied, 'I'm just observing whether you are watching the movie or not.' She was frustrated and replied that she was watching and that there was no need for me to check on her. However, I couldn't stop my habit of doing it. Finally, when we finished the movie, she had no reaction, which was not what I expected.
So it also impacts me whether the other person liked the movie or not. I know that everyone has different tastes in everything, but I still can't help feeling a little bit of disappointment.
