The crows have all but taken over. In fact, I'm waiting on one now ;)
...I've been feeding crows, chasing them, calling them, counting them (yes, that was on purpose for you 90's kids out there like , but it's also true). I started trying to do a drawing each day, just to get some practice and hone my little skills down to a sharp point - but then wound up drawing nothing but crows.
Don't get me wrong, that has been and will continue to be a fun way to practice, but my heart yearned for new inspiration, and today I received an answer. Was it from the voiceless voice, or was it simply attached to a passing cloud? Not sure, I wasn't paying that much attention when it got here.
Either way, it occurred to me that it might be a fun game to play, to try drawing people's Hive avatars...so naturally I started with the Dan that never was, my buddy .
The first thing I would need is a way to make all my circles of consistent diameter. A roll of tape would do the trick perfectly well enough.
Here appears to be my emerging style. Step one (not including the circle): make a super shitty drawing in pencil that somewhat resembles the general internal structure of the avatar.
Step 2: Outline critical components with pen (I got these pens mad cheap on Temu and they're really great, by the way). For the colored part on this one, I used watercolor pencils.
Step 3: Back to the Temu pen...color it black pretty much everywhere.
Step 4: Use Acrylic paint markers to do some other stuff.
Step 5: Boom. Done.
...and that's how you draw 's avatar!
You will notice as this goes on, I have no intention of putting lots of words into these...this one in fact, as the first one, will be the "long" one. From here out it may get pretty inarticulate.
All avatar drawing posts will be set to also benefit the original owner. These days my posts are set to 100% Power Up...not sure if that will apply to beneficiaries or not.
Thanks for checking out some more of my work! As always, I hope you enjoyed witnessing as much as I enjoyed creating!
