Recently I posted about the stickers I designed and ordered. Well, they came in this week, so I dropped a few on some trash can lids in some low traffic areas. I put them on the sides of the trash cans that faced away from the common trail area, so you’d have to be poking around a bit to find them.
I wanted to advertise, but I didn’t want to do it in a way that’s disrespectful to the area…a lot of the homeless guys keep their bags in the bushes behind the trashcans though…I’m guessing they’ll be the ones most likely to find the first round of stickers. There are other places, downtown, where there are lots of stickers; I won’t feel guilty about loading those areas up in full display.
…I also walked around to a couple of bars and handed stickers out to the bar tenders and staff, with my music business email (rory.laird.ilm@gmail.com) written on the back.
Next I laid out a few at a local wholesaler:
And finally, my wife and I stopped at a coffee shop to get the kids some cake pops, somI tucked one into a picture frame…just tucked in, no sticky :)
Although I’m technically preparing for gigs in 2024/25, I feel confident that I could tread water for a two hour gig even now - it’d just be more site-reading than I used to prefer. So we’ll see how that goes, I’m not really concerned at this point whether I get any gigs or not. …but it would be nice to post videos of actual live performances, cuz I’m usually WAY better in front if an audience than I am by myself in the park. Either way, all things come in their own time :)
I like seeing IRL Hive promotions like this personally, so I think as I do my own promotionals, I’ll keep sharing like this.
Thanks for checking out some more of my work! As always, I hope you enjoyed witnessing as much as I enjoyed creating!

has officially hard-forked.
is now the home for pretty much all acoustic singer/songwriter work.
I created a second account () in May 2023 to be my professional side. It’s a totally separate thing, strictly acoustic playing and singing. Because I don’t want to post duplicate material from two accounts, this account is now the home for all my acoustic singer/songwriter type stuff.
I’ll be using this as my account to share with bars and venues etc., so it will be a home for acoustic covers, live performances and auditions…pretty much, if I’m playing a stringed instrument amd singing, this is where I’ll be doing it…unless I’m doing it while operating a motor vehicle ;)
