Museum Diaries: Manila Edition ๐๏ธ
So last Friday (Feb 28 2026), our school dragged us all the way from Cabanatuan to the National Museum in Manila.
I'm not gonna lieโwhen I first walked in and saw room after room of old paintings, my first thought was "here we go again." ๐ Like, don't get me wrong, they're beautiful and all, but sometimes it's hard to get excited about "just pictures" when you'd rather be anywhere else.
BUT... okay, fine. As we walked through, I started noticing things. The way the light hit these massive paintings, the stories they were trying to tell, the fact that some of these artworks have been here for over a hundred years. There's something kind of powerful about standing in front of history, even if it's framed on a wall.
The ride from Cabanatuan was long, and my feet definitely hurt after walking through all those galleries, but I guess that's the thing about museumsโyou don't always realize what you're absorbing until later.
Still not sure if I'd choose to spend my Friday here voluntarily, but I'm glad we came. Maybe? ๐
And hereโs some pic from our tour, they are just paintings... ๐ ๐
Shoutout to my classmates who made it less boring though. You know who you are. ๐
