Death is part of our lives. For those that know my blogs from the last 5 years know that I also go to graveyards and photograph the site. It’s always different and a part of our lives that is also important. Who knows when we are dead we can see who comes to visit us at the graveyard and who will clean up the grave stone.
I am fascinated by the yards everywhere.
In Curaçao, in Rotterdam and in Italy. The last ones I visited this past months.
Now today after a question of my child it came to mind to publish these pictures of an abandoned graveyard. Still not dug up and replaced but still there with the remains of people who have lived many years ago.
The question was “ mum when you die do you wanna be buried of burned?”
I had to laugh but that is apparently the way my kid looks at it. Burried or burned! Well it’s a discussion I have yet not with a teenager. And it made me think…
Think about the two options we have. And yes I know there are more solutions but the main two are burrying and cremation. I always thought it would be good fo mr me when I would be fortunate enough to have kids to be burried because the kids would have a place to visit.
Nobel thought to think that such a place would be needed for their greef.
But if I am honest, and if you who is reading this , do you go to the grave of the last loved one you lost? I do , but the times I go can be counted on one hand.
This is a very old part of as very old graveyard. It’s in black and white , because that is the feeling I get when walking around the site.
What do you think ? What the better option? Does it matter when you have kids? Is a grave for me the dead one , or for the people left behind.

In the pictures you see that also graves can be overgrown and ugly in their sadness. Or is that because it’s old?
