Ever since I was growing up, I have been hearing the word giving and never gave it attention as I am about to share now. The kind of mindframe I had and trained with was to share or give money and I didn't know that there are lots of things tie to the word giving.
I would like to define what I mean by giving. I know there are so many definitions but I decided to put it this way, giving is an act of sharing or sacrifice of any thing which is accompanied by great love. Any giving that is not under the context of love I doubt it's genuineness. As we proceed, I would like to share some four important points I considered valid for effective discussion here. In my life journey, I realised that there are lots of things that one could easily give out not necessarily money but others. Kindly follow me as we share
- there are four basic principles or factors of giving I want to share. I decided to give the acronym LIFE to it.
The first L stands for labour.
Many times there is this mindset I noticed that many don't like to give what involves them directly. Labour is a great gift one can offer either directly or indirectly. There are moments where one could assist an individual to get a task done by getting involved. You can give your strength or energy or ability to someone.
The next secret is I stands for influence.
If you can offer labour, you can use your influence to put smile on one's face. Life is like a web which connects one individual to another. There are people that might not be privileged to attain a height or get to somewhere but one can exercise his influence to cause change. I have really enjoyed this factor a lot in my life's journey. Use your influence to add value to someone's life.
The next one is F which stands for finance.
The issue of money can't be completely overruled. This goes a long way to solve some needs. If you can give labour and use your influence to transform lives then your money would go along way.
The last but not the least is E which stands for expertise.
May be you have a particular skill, you can use that also to give back to the society. You can decide to have skill acquisition centres or training which will curb the challenge of joblessness. When you trained and give someone a skill, that will be one of the greatest gifts.
CONCLUSION
In Conclusion, any genuine act of giving requires sacrifice. There is something you can always give to cause transformation to a life. Don't procrastinate but start now.
