This is my dog, Khan, enjoying the morning sun. I've had Khan since 2011. He was rescued so I have little idea of what the first 2 years of his life was like. In fact I can't be sure if he was 2 years old when I got him.
I called him Khan after the Jungle Book character Shere Khan because of his tiger-like stripes. I'm not sure what he is, there's probably a bit of Staffordshire Bull Terrier in him, and maybe some greyhound, but he is a bit of a mixture. He was really fast when he was younger and had a strong hunting instinct. He would often jump into a bush and appear with a pidgeon in his mouth, much to my wife's distress!
But now Khan is old and slow. He has developed a number of fatty lumps, one of which is quite big. They aren't harmful but don't look very nice. I felt he was too old to have operated on.
I thought I was going to lose him a couple of months ago and nearly made arrangements for him to be put to sleep. That's the worst thing about having a dog, they rarely just fall asleep and die, you nearly always have to have them put to sleep. However, he suddenly recovered, so I at least have a little longer to enjoy his company.
As for him, he just enjoys a short walk, eating begging and of course laying in the sun.
