I crave my solitude like gold because it's my haven—a hub where my muses dance freely as my imagination shapes my dreems into reality. That reality stays in my head. It's still in my head, waiting anxiously, to be let out for the world to see.
Sometimes one of those dreems peeks out, like a shy cat, to see what my corner of the world has to offer….to see if they would welcome it with open arms.
I've written once before that I'm not one for BIG dreems. I prefer them small, in bite sizes, easy to handle and hopefully accomplish. They can easily fit into my haven.
Oh, by the way, my haven is not a grand castle or lavish penthouse. Again, I don't favour the grandeur but a cosy place where I can settle down to write for as long as I want to in the gentle embrace of nature.
That is one of my dreems—to write something fascinating and worth reading. Don't get me wrong—I do write. I write some, here and there, and that's when the peeking happens. But I want the full show. My muses push for full attention and I'm slowly working on this.
The DreemPort challenge says to "describe my DREEM SPACE…and how to turn it into a dreem". Picture this with me: a fine wooden cabin, comfortably (not lavishly) furnished and with bookshelves filled and stacked with books. Lots of books. A few landscape paintings hanging on the walls to inspire my imagination.
When I look out the window, I want a breathtaking view of a babbling brook, situated behind my cabin. Its gentle murmuring or gurgling sounds in harmony with the chirping of birds and rustling of leaves would be music to my muse.
Do these sound outrageous? I don't think so because it's all about my imagination and my inspiration. That's how best I can express my dreem and bring them to life.
Is this dreem space attainable? Maybe in 2024? I believe so with careful planning, preparation and budgeting towards the realisation. Many writers have their unique haven where their words can flow easily and their dreems are birthed, influencing their readers, changing lives and thoughts and hopefully, building a better world. I hope to have this soon.
In the meantime, my dreem will continue taking a peek, every once in a while until its full time comes.
Oh, look, this piece is one of those many peeks!
This is my response to the first question in the Dreemer Of The Year Challenge which is: Describe your DREEM SPACE. Click on the link to participate in this contest.
