Recently, some strange things have been happening in my life… And you know, our circumstances don’t always change for the better.
The main thing is to learn to change our attitude toward them. I really like one phrase: “I see the goal, I don’t see obstacles.” That’s exactly how I feel now like an off-road vehicle making my way through rough terrain where I’ve never been before.
This week, the chief editor invited me to take part in an “open dialogue.” I prepared material based on the speakers’ presentations. The topic was quite interesting. What especially caught my attention was the opinion of foreign men who choose Russian women for family life. A Russian woman is a quiet strength, able to mobilize in difficult situations and take on any role. I don’t know if I’ll be able to continue working with the newspaper. I don’t like delivering “dry” information to people. I like speaking from the heart, with emotion — in a way that truly touches deeply. Maybe this isn’t really my path.
🤔 Starting Monday, I’ll begin courses in Russian sign language. I registered, joined the group, learned the finger alphabet… and now I’m sitting here thinking, “Do I even need this?” 🙃
I’m also looking for a part-time job. I applied for a certificate of no criminal record, and now I have to wait 30 days 🙈 In those 30 days, I’ll probably change my mind a hundred times 😂
Sirens go off very often, announcing missile danger. Yesterday, classes at school were interrupted, and parents had to pick up their children with permission from the teacher. There have already been strikes in our city, and it’s very sad :(
I’m waiting for spring. Though I’m a bit afraid because of possible flooding. I hope, God willing, the snow melts gradually. I already want to plant seedlings — peppers, eggplants on the windowsill, and of course different flowers. At the end of March, tomatoes and cucumbers are planted as seedlings. Anyway… I’ve gone into “girly talk” now 🤦♀️
Finally, the snow has melted off the roads, and now we can drive faster on the asphalt 🤩 Though in some places, the asphalt disappeared along with the snow 😂 “It just doesn’t settle, the Russian land rejects it” 😂
The potholes are filled with water, and if you hit one at speed, you can damage a tire, bend a rim, or break a suspension. It’s happened to me before)
Well, once again my article turned out long… And I still wanted to tell you about “Maslenitsa.” In Russia, it’s a celebration of saying goodbye to winter. They make a straw effigy and then burn it, and all week they bake pancakes.
They also have a tradition of climbing a pole to win prizes — often a rooster. The rooster is a symbol of the sun. That’s a short version. A pagan holiday 😂 By the way, do you fry pancakes where you are?
