Assalamualaikum/ Hello hive community!
About a month ago, you might have seen that viral video too. A whole colony of penguins was chilling on the ice, but there was one... just one, who was marching to the beat of his own drum. He turned his back on the group and set off all by himself on a brand-new journey.
When I saw him, these lines immediately came to my mind:
"If he is so hell-bent on being alone,
He must have tried living among people too."
جو وہ اکیلا رہنے پر تلا ہوا ہے اس نے لوگوں کے ساتھ رہ کر بھی تو دیکھا ہوگا
I don’t know why, but I felt like that penguin was "me." A bit different, a bit stubborn, and someone who prefers to walk away from the crowd.
So today, I thought... why not sketch this "rebel" penguin?
Now, here’s the twist: I am NOT an artist! Not even close. I have a huge passion for drawing, but let’s just say drawing doesn't exactly share that same love for me. 😂 I just keep trying, hoping that one day, by some miracle, my pencil will create something "perfect."
Here’s how today’s journey went:
The First 30 Minutes: I drew three circles that looked less like a penguin and more like a bunch of potatoes. My eraser became my best friend.
The Next 15 Minutes: While making the beak, the penguin started looking angry, as if saying, "Just let me go on my journey, don't humiliate me by drawing me like this!"
The Final 20 Minutes: The shading phase. I figured if I just filled in some grey tones, maybe my mistakes would hide themselves.
After over an hour of hard labor, countless erasures, and my pencil lead snapping twice... finally, this came to life.
I know, it’s not a professional masterpiece. Its wings are a bit wonky, and the eyes might not look as "heroic" as the one in the video. But, this is my little effort, my own version of starting a "new journey."
I’ve had a habit since childhood: I never give up. Once I decide I’m going to do something, I do it. Even if it turns out a bit weird (like this drawing—it’s not exactly a masterpiece, but it’s not that bad either, right? 😉). I keep fighting with myself and keep trying because the joy is in the effort, not just the result.
By the way, shall I tell you a secret? Truth is, I still don't even know if that video was real or just something made by AI! 😂 But whatever it was, I’ve made my penguin now, so that’s that.
Whether the video was real or fake, my "Pyara Penguin" is 100% real and the result of my hard work. Now, nobody better make fun of him! 🤫 If he looks a bit tilted to you, just assume my penguin is standing with "style." 🐧✨
Until then, me and my pencil—just like that lonely penguin—will keep on moving forward. 🏔️
What do you think? Did you see that video too? And how many marks out of 10 would you give to my "labor of love"? Let me know in the comments!
