For the first time in my life, I don't have a pet right now, but all I had to do was look around the neighborhood to find one who didn't mind posing with his paper mache friend.
This is Cooper. He is a massive Maine Coon juvenile and true to his breed he is highly active, inquisitive and very independent! Definitely not a lap cat. My neighbors purchased him from a breeder.
His mom died last week. She and her husband have been good neighbors, but she has been sick for a long time and I did not have a lot of opportunities to get to know her well. Her husband has been active and helpful around the neighborhood and Cooper will be good company for him now.
My daughter has been helpful to the family and has stopped over every day for the past year to help with the wife's care and with necessary tasks. She and Cooper are great friends and she pet sits and takes him to vet appointments when necessary, When he hears Alli's car in the neighborhood he recognizes it and runs to the door. Cooper's dad will be going in for heart surgery. It was rescheduled due to his wife's death, so Alli will be on Cooper care duty for some time.
Maine Coons are known for living long lives and I wonder where Cooper's life will take him.
For now, Cooper will be happy to have my daughter continue to stop by each day to play with the ribbon wand that she made for him.
