Many times, I just enjoy looking up into the sky. In the daytime, sometimes the sky is full of clouds, at other times, it is almost completely cloudless with the sun blazing.
Nighttime is a different story altogether. The sky seems to be filled with a lot of stars and only one moon. Sometimes only a few of the stars show and sometimes, the moon seems to go into hiding.
When I was a child, I always looked forward to the days (or rather nights if you prefer ☺), when the moon will be big, bright and full. Such times are when we can sit outside longer before going to bed. The adults are ready to tell us stories when we ask them. The stories may be folk tales, though they may be real stories of their experience when they were much younger, or they tell us things about different parts of the world as far as they know. Such nights are great bonding times for the family. I can still remember a TV show that we were always looking forward to: Tales By Moonlight.
Now, as an adult, I find the same thing happening. I and my husband stay outside ( in the premises of course) a little longer with the children. The children always seem to have endless questions to ask about my growing up, or my husband's own. We use that time to also advise, encourage and counsel them.
Looking up at the moon as a child, I could see what looked like a man chopping firewood with an axe. I remember asking some of my friends if they noticed it too. One of them said she did, and that when she asked her parents, they told her that the man was banished to the moon because he chopped firewood on a Sunday morning instead of going to church 🤣🤣🤣. Sounds hilarious though, but can you imagine the lies adults tell kids to scare them for whatever reason?
Anyways, I recently asked my children if they ever noticed a man chopping wood in the moon. One of them looked at me and asked, "Mum, how can you say that? When I look at the moon I see a map of Africa!" 😳😳🤔🤔🤣🤣 Now, she has given me a new perspective about the moon.
That is it about life. You see what you see, you can make others believe you. Please leave your thoughts in the comments and I will get back to you.
Thanks for reading this post. I, , authored this post. The pictures of the moon in this post were taken using my phone.
