Hola amigos de esta linda comunidad, espero que estén muy bien.
Ayer fui al centro de Medellín —¡un verdadero caos!— a averiguar unas cositas que me interesan para un posible emprendimiento. Mientras caminaba entre el bullicio, los colores y los gritos de los vendedores, no podía dejar de pensar en lo impresionante que es el mundo del comercio. Es más que vender: es saber tratar a las personas, tener buena labia, saber convencer. ¡Y los paisas en eso son unos maestros!
También pasé por un lugar que siempre me derrite: una heladería callejera que visito cada vez que voy al centro. Allí, mientras pensaba en cuál sabor escoger, me vino una reflexión:
En la vida tenemos muchas elecciones, muchas opciones… pero casi siempre terminamos escogiendo aquello que realmente nos gusta, lo que nos hace sentir bien, lo que nos da alegría, aunque haya muchas alternativas frente a nosotros.
A veces, por más que veamos cosas nuevas, preferimos lo de siempre. Como yo con el helado: siempre termino eligiendo chocolate, o ese sabor que tanto me gusta pero que ahora no encuentro aquí.
Y me pasa también con las personas. He aprendido que, así como con los sabores, debemos elegir a quienes nos hacen bien, a quienes nos hacen sentir en casa, en paz. No siempre se trata de lo más “nuevo” o llamativo, sino de lo que de verdad alimenta el alma.
Después de terminar mis vueltas —como dicen acá— o mis diligencias, como decimos nosotros, tomé el metro y regresé a casa. Llegué agotada: hacía calor, había mucha gente… pero fue un día bonito, lleno de aprendizajes sencillos.

Yesterday I went to downtown Medellín —total chaos!— to check out a few things that caught my attention for a potential business idea. As I walked through the hustle and bustle, surrounded by colors, people, and street vendors shouting their deals, I couldn’t stop thinking about how fascinating the world of commerce is. It’s not just about selling, it’s about how you treat people, how you connect with them — and let me tell you, paisas are experts at that!
I also passed by a place that always melts my heart: a small ice cream shop on the street. Every time I go to the center, I stop and admire it. While choosing a flavor, a thought came to me:
In life, we’re given so many choices… but in the end, we always go for what truly brings us joy. Whether it’s ice cream flavors, life paths, or the people we surround ourselves with, we often stick with what feels right — even if there are plenty of new options around.
It’s the same with people. I’ve learned that we should choose those who make us feel good, who bring peace and warmth to our lives. Not necessarily the newest or most exciting, but those who truly nourish our soul.
After finishing my errands —or vueltas, as they say here— I hopped on the metro and headed home. I was exhausted; the heat was intense and the crowds overwhelming. But it was a beautiful day, full of small but meaningful reflections.
