I'm thinking I'm the person who introduced you and yes Hive certainly IS confusing to someone who is new to it!

My suggestion.

Post any questions or problems you have and see how the community responds. For the most part people are supportive and helpful. Many of them also don't use English as their native language so from what I've seen people are fairly understanding for grammar mistakes.
