Today she was very happy as she enrolled her daughter in the school. She was the only daughter of her whom she got after 10 years of marriage (at the age of 35). After leaving her for school, she returned home and scuttled to take a shower because she was getting late for her office.
When she was taking shower, she felt a weird type of lump on her left breast. She thought it may be some kind of lesion which she got due to some kind of hypersensitivity reaction and ignored it.
After few days when that lump started growing, she felt anxious and told her mother about it. Her mother didn’t take it serious and relaxed her saying ,”Just apply ALLIUM CEPA on it” and advised her to recite few religious broodings.
She for the moment sighed due to psychological belief but that didn’t last long and the pain precipitated again and this time pain originated from her arm. She was feeling like someone was pinning nails in her arm.
And now she immediately called on a general physician who out of her ignorance just went for palliative care and prescribed her a strong analgesic without scrutinizing the root cause of it.
She used the prescribed medicine for a week or two. Medicine relieved her pain somehow but her condition was turning bad day by day. Breasts starting loosening, the lump got bigger and the skin became red and dry.
She then consulted a proficient doctor who at the first moment after hearing the case, asked her for a biopsy and his doubt was right. She was suffering from a 4th stage breast cancer. All the time that was crucial for her treatment was spent doing home remedies and visiting quacks.
Now the only option left was to make sure that she has a painless death. She had a few weeks to live now. Cancer was growing abruptly. She was on continuous morphine to alleviate pain. With wet eyes on hospital bed she was just seeing how these 8 months totally changed her life. She was just thinking about dreams she had about her daughter. She wanted her to graduate. She wanted to see her marry but now she could only see her around bed for the last time.
And there are thousands of stories like this where carelessness and ignorance lead to demise of many ladies.
Breast cancer is currently most diagnosed type of cancer these days and only an early assessment and screening can spare lives from it.
This basically originates in mill secreting lobules of breasts but spreads abruptly in surrounding even damages liver in many cases as well.
Women are more prone to hormonal changes . Onset of menstruation, pregnancy and menopause, they have to cope with hormonal changes and psychological effects due to those hormonal imbalances. Breast cancer is caused due to inherited genes, hormonal imbalances ,genes mutation and older ages.
Women who are at most risk are:

I believe Woman is the most beautiful creature of GOD. In the bond of mother, wife, sister and friend , they are just more than amazing. We must help them caring themselves.
Course is changing these days but still in pakistan , no one wants to talk about such topics. I remember a seminar was organised on this topic last year and only ten females were attending that.
We must play our role to raise awareness on this topic so that someone’s nearest doesn't expire due to a disease that can be assessed and cured easily.
Health-related persons must step forward to guide fair sex. Ladies must share information with each other over it.Self assessment and early detection can save many lives. There is a dire need to stop prevalence of this disease. We must stand up to make this world free of breast cancer. And ways to it are
- spreading awareness
- Showing solidarity to patients.
Looking forward to see your stance and efforts you made in this issue.
