A cozy dinner during the rainy season sounds perfect. Then my partner requested out of nowhere a Fried Calamari or Fried Squid Ring.
We were in a hurry at the market to buy squid for his cravings. We also bought some stuffs for our stocks.
When we finished buying, we went home and suddenly it started to rain again.
I started to clean the squid and cut it into a ring cut.
After that, I dipped the squid in egg. It helps the flour stick better and adds a bit of richness to the coat
Then coated the squid ring in flour that gives them the nice and crispy texture when fried.
And this is the final result!
After we ate, he bought a beer at the sari-sari store to drink and ate the leftovers.
There’s something so real and comforting about grabbing a cold beer from the sari-sari store after a home-cooked meal. It’s simple, local, and full of character — just like the best moments.
