So earlier this year, I sat with few friends over lunch and during our discussions, I reminded them of the need for decluttering as it brings in cleanliness and orderliness. One of them mentioned that she had started decluttering from 8th Dec 2025, old doors, kid’s shoes, my clothes, old utensils, etc., believing God will provide their replacement, she also mentioned that she did let go some friends with negative energy and her space feels new. Funny how our other friend confessed that she has been using her ex's old towel as a rag... Don't judge her please thanks goodness the advice came on time; she cannot keep on thinking about him every time she sees or use it. She said thank you for the motivation to throw it away and mentioned that she has plans to change furniture position n change her beddings, curtains, doormat, and bedsides to help her move on faster.
Things to take out
Items tied to pain or past seasons: Clothes, gifts, letters, or objects that reopen wounds God already healed. If it brings heaviness instead of peace, it no longer belongs. Clear that clutter!
Things you’re holding “just in case”. Broken items, unused furniture, old electronics. God can’t fill hands that won’t let go
Clothes you no longer fit - physically or spiritually; Outfits from old versions of you. If you’ve grown, your space should reflect that growth
Decorations that carry negative energy or memories Art, symbols, or décor that no longer aligns with who you are now. Your home should feel safe, calm, and covered
Clutter that creates stress, Overflowing drawers, crowded closets, messy corners. Order invites peace. And peace invites clarity
Books, music, or media that pull you backward: Anything that feeds fear, bitterness, lust, or confusion. What you allow in your home speaks to your spirit
Old paperwork from closed chapters: Expired bills, old contracts, outdated records. You’re not living there anymore!
Furniture or items blocking movement Things that make your space feel tight or heavy. Make room (physically and spiritually) for what’s coming
Dust, dirt, and neglect.Even the small things matter. God honors stewardship, even in your home
The atmosphere: Arguments, unforgiveness, constant complaining. start 2026 with: ▪︎ Clean words ▪︎ Clean thoughts ▪︎ Clean space
Thank you for allowing me remind you to declutter our spaces and also our heart. If you are holding grudges that carries pain it is time to forgive and let it go.
Did you declutter this year
