Hello everyone! How are you all?
Has life been good? Is winter that cold?
life is great for me. I and my family celebrated Christmas together on the day before Christmas eve. we are so happy to prepare food but unfortunately, too much work called for a good sleep.
My body felt so tired that I begged them to let me sleep for a bit; I was dizzy but I wasn't drinking at all.
I didn't actually have a good sleep earlier that night because my kids are still awake and they fight and shout whenever they get excited.
I even let them borrow my phone so that they will not be looking much for me. My kids are so clingy, and they all wanted to be cuddled when I am around.
On the day of 24th, I had to report for duty at work, things needs to be done but I really feel heavy; I wanted to sleep because I had been having less sleep successively on the previous nights.
At 12 noon, I went home. I am starving already since I did not bring any food to work and the canteen is closed.
When I arrived home, there is no viand left so I fried ripe bananas. It took me a while to finish because I had to cook all of the bananas so my husband and his friends will have some snacks too.
My husband is working on a renovation no, an extension of our house. He had two men, one is my cousin and I offered them coffee and the fried banana at three in the afternoon.
I had to double time cooking spaghetti pasta and boiling water for their coffee at that time.
Whilst my sister is preparing her Fruit salad, my daughter is patiently waiting for her to give her a free taste and let her do some work.
her fruit salad consisted of grapes, apples, cheese, raisins, mayonnaise, condensed milk, and cream. It was very delicious!
Just after I finished eating, My mother asked me to help her in making bibingka and boy, it was so hot to cook it.
We even thought it was a failure because mother put twice as much yeast in the mixture. The output was too soft but we are so thankful, it hardened a bit as it cooled down. I was not able to take a picture of the bibingka but here is my mother grinding the coconut manually so coconut milk extraction will be easier
Bibingka is made of ground rice, soaked in coconut milk and sweetened with sugar. A delicacy my grandmother used to make and sell to make a living back in the days.
I also cooked spaghetti noodles; spaghetti should not be absent during occasions since my niece loves it so much.
We all had fun during dinner and we were filled.
The cold weather contributed to our good night's sleep too! It had been raining since 3 in the afternoon, in fact to date ther are some parts of Mindanao that needed help. Gingoog Oroqueta CIty experienced floods and people's houses had been damaged.
But what about you, did you have parties on Christmas Eve? Is it very festive? Did you have fun?
