My Myers-Briggs personality test says, amongst many other things, my introvert percentage is Ninety-freakin-Seven/ 97%.
And the irony is, the biggest mis-conception about me is that almost everyone around me, except very few people, thinks I am an extrovert if not definitely an ambivert and they will not believe even the test when it comes to me!
I would often wonder why everyone assumes such a notion, when they can understand if they look more into the surroundings that I barely participate in the social gathering and rarely get out of home during weekends only to be all cooped up in my room.
People like any other theory or idea, think that introverts are all gloomy, rude, unconventional etc. every negative first-impression they could think of, which most of the time probably they got it from some shallow portrayal from a movie or TV series.
Please get that in your head that we are ONLY LIMITEDLY SOCIAL.
However, like any other persona, there are some introverts, who are amazing at dealing with social life and personal life, whilst some others are rather self-absorbed yet clueless and gloomy indeed.
After pondering about it, I realized that the major reasons are perhaps that I am overly kind and plain honest about everything that involves me. I do not lie, because it is complicated, you have to deal and live with consequences and fear that the lie will surface again and again leading to more lies and the process is extremely tedious.
Which is why I chose to speak of truth to save my energy, which has eventually led me to doing things correctly and avoiding doing anything that might make me lie about it. It is as simple.
I am kind because I would like people to treat me the way I treat them. There is no reason for anyone to be unnecessarily rude when one can be kind.
These characteristics eventually end up drawing rather unwanted attention from most of the people around me. I feel like people these days are needlessly extreme and their number is only increasing, so they are drawn to those kind people.
As I have been working as a leader in professional life from an early age since I graduated university, I had to learn people-skill of course to handle the teams smartly and effectively.
If I cannot communicate properly, convey, and interpret effectively, possessing enough of such knowledge is certainly futile!
