Almost since I've been here in my new home, I've been plagued by fears of these large old oaks in my front yard.
Come as I do from the woods of South Ga USA, I have seen plenty of venerable old oaks come down apparently healthy, but having a black, rotten interior.
This on in particular has one limb reaching towards my house
Same tree, from the other side
You can rest assured that the interior of the tree from that spot is black and rotten downward for at least 10 ft.
Hollow in other words, and therefore very weak.
RED are limbs hanging toward the house
YELLOW is a limb that goes in the opposite direction, and overhangs the neighbor's driveway, but also is a counterbalance.
So in the longer run, it would be best to remove the whole tree, but I just can't stomach that, not right now.
So I'll be conservative.
In the BACK yard, there is a dead Mimosa that may not even be on my property, but it overhangs my fence and when it comes down, it will take out one of my buildings.
Starting last week, ending Monday when I got a company to come look, here is the pain
TUESDAY, I had my now semi annual CT scan, so I had to drive into Decatur Ga, to the main VA hospital
I avoid the interstate/multi lane highways whenever possible.
I find this much more enjoyable, don't you?
I see lots of splendid architecture along the way
And some vistas that are just road
My appointment was VASTLY delayed
But the appointment itself wasn't too bad, and the trip home was rather uneventful.
If only my day had remained thus.
When I got home, my phone would not call out nor in, it told me I had to use wifi calling. MY PHONE told me that, when I knew that should not be the case.
I was NOT on Airplane mode, I was NOT on do not disturb
I restarted my phone.
I called and got a support person
Before that, using the website I had told support to call me. The website showed they were calling me, my phone IN MY HAND WAS NOT DOING ANYTHING. It was THEN that I did the restart of my phone.
THEN I called and got the bot to get someone to call me.
THEN I spent 30 min on the phone with the idiot
THEN the idiot wanted (as always) to blame me or my phone. So I had to reset my network settings (which of course logs me out of EVERYTHING) THEN he wanted me to RESTART MY PHONE (I'd already done that or we wouldn't have been TALKING on my phone)
I am still finding stuff I am logged out of
Which brings us to WEDNESDAY
These were my views this morning.
↑Nifty 2 tiered web-building that↑
↑Sadly this one was attached to some plants I had to prune, but the spider was still hanging there, and I'd be willing to be the web will be rebuilt
Of course His Majesty Crown Prince Tommy of Assholia had to supervise
That was my walk, I hope you've enjoyed the tour.
