When I was in Girl Scouts (decades ago) I needed a pen pal in order to earn a particular badge I wanted. My mother suggested I write to my cousin, her only sister's only child. We were close in age, and became well acquainted over the years. Now we email, but I might just take the time to write her an old-fashioned letter one of these days.
