Saludos queridos Amigos
Greetings dear friends
Have a happy and blessed day all of you, welcome to my blog, it is a great joy for me to be able to share this new week with all of you, today I want to share with you a little of what the adaptation of my little one to his special education school.
I was telling you in the title of this post about our adaptation because this is something that not only My little one must adapt to but also us as parents.
I consider that together with my little one we have been overcoming stages, some of them I now consider unnecessary but I am also certain that I had to try and live it to understand and overcome each stage, I am talking to you about the adaptation of our little blues to the regular educational system because I know that just as it was a great hope for me that our little ones could adapt to regular schools because specialists believe that children with this condition should be included in regular education.
However, for many, including my son, it is difficult for them to adapt and it even becomes detrimental to them, because in my case I can tell you that I noticed a setback.
As I told you, just as there are many who manage to adapt to regular schools at their own pace, there is a percentage that unfortunately needs a place where they have a little more specialized attention, and we were able to discover this after a full year in which I attended together my little one to his school where, after observing and analyzing the situation and together with the specialists who also noticed that there was no progress, on the contrary, it was obvious that the child was going backwards in his learning, we decided that the best thing for him was to enroll him in a school. of special education.
This is his second year in this special education school and his adaptation has been very good even though his classes and attention have not been completely normal due to the country situation and that in many educational institutions the attention is three days a week. week.
Since his first year at this school it has been a bit tough for both him and his parents because the special education school is two hours from our town and in his first year his father and I had to take turns taking him. and wait for him until noon to return home with him, this was something a little difficult because the journey and the fatigue were noticeable for both him and us, and many times he arrived at school upset and not wanting to work.
A few months later, thanks to a mayor's office in our town, they enabled transportation to take all the children to this school, which was totally satisfactory because it was a direct transportation which took much less time to get there and they would have round-trip transportation.
From that moment we noticed that change in his behavior, he got up very early in the morning to go to school and little by little we began to notice all those customs and teachings that he brought from his school.
Currently I can tell you that he gets up very early, we help him get ready and get dressed when he arrives at school, he lines up with his classmates to honor the national symbols, then he goes to his classroom, he knocks on the door, he enters, he takes off his bag, he places it in the chair and sits at the table to wait for the teacher to give him instructions to start the work.
On several occasions I have seen how he is a little autonomous in his school and knows where he is going and everything he should do. We have also been participants in his school activities and have witnessed his work in the classroom.
Now for this second school year he was changed with other teachers and to another classroom which worried me a little since he was so used to his classroom and his teachers that I thought this would be detrimental to him but I worried more than anything else.
My little one has now understood that he has new teachers and that he now has a new educational space. I think that many times we worry more about things thinking that our children will not be capable when for them it tends to be something very simple. I have learned to give them a little space and allow them to know and learn without having to be present in that place.
In conclusion, I think that this is not about the child studying in a regular school or a special school, it is about their well-being and their progress. I also think that we should try to loosen them up a little and give them confidence because they can achieve great things alone. They need our love, our trust and our support.
The adaptation process has been totally successful and for us as his parents, as long as he is well and feels good in this place, we will adapt to his needs.
My dear parents and friends, this has been a little bit of My Little Prince Charming and myself, which I wanted to open my heart and tell you about today.
Thank you for taking a minute of your time and checking out my post.
Greetings and blessings.
