It's been a few days since I saw 's initiated challenge called My Most Shitty Investment Challenge, and although I read the post(entirely), I honestly haven't had any vibe pushing me to write a post on the topic. Neither am I a fan of following challenges. But since
is a nice Greek, quite spoiled by his wife I have to say, and I have a day when failure is on my mind right from the morning hours I'll share my shitty investment as well.
Without any further ado here's my most shitty investment, and you probably guessed it, it's crypto related. In the winter of 2017, it was exactly on Christmas Eve, I bought some NXT at $1.92, of about $1300 worth, and although the shitcoin was at almost ATHs I had a plan in my mind, and that wasn't to sell it any soon. It was scheduled to have a hardfork on the 31st of December and we were supposed to get an airdrop for holding shit in our hands at a certain time, when the screenshot would be taken.
Little did I knew at that time, being quite inexperienced, that what we were experiencing for a few months was actually a proper bull run and those consume themselves quite fast usually. Moreover the shitty offspring of NXT, which I honestly don't remember the name of, was valued at about $2,5 at that time hence buying and holding NXT seemed to be a good deal. I was already seeing NXT pumping to at least three dollars, and selling its forked new coin at about the same price as well, hence at least doubling my money seemed an easy game.
But it wasn't like that, and the market, as well as NXT and its Jelurida shitty founding company, fucked me really hard... and painful. Waiting for the screenshot to occur at who knows what block they were planning to, I was also watching how NXT fell from almost $2 to 60 cents, and lower, refusing to believe that it won't get back to the moon... The harsh reality was that when I decided to sell it, its value was 12 fucking cents... after buying it at almost two dollars.
The screenshot occurred when scheduled but, not too many wallets were supporting it, and my chosen wallet to do the operation, to which obviously I forgot its name, has loaded my account with the shitty new NXT babies only months after that. By the time I got my hands on it and sold it I was having only about $150 from my initial investment, by selling both NXT and the new shitcoin, and no profit at all. That was my most shitty investment from all times, and my most painful lesson in crypto.
I did learned from it, and still learning in this space tbh, and I can also say that now I feel more prepared for a new bull market than I was during the previous one, when I slipped quite some nice profits through my hands. Now that I shared with you this painful investing experience I would like to nominate some folks as well, and since I can only call for three I am nominating ,
and
.
Thanks for attention,
Adrian
