because that is what fuels polarisation that helps divide us even further.
That depends highly on communication. (who will enjoy this article and some of the comments I read so far) and I have very, very different opinions on quite a few topics, yet we're able to communicate our arguments very well. Most of the times, we both can be moody. Sometimes, we don't get to a conclusion as it is a matter of believes where rational arguments just can't bring us closer. That doesn't mean we're divided per se, but we agree to disagree.
Most divisions can be prevented with proper communication. And it is somewhat mentioned in a few topics that the LLM lists, like distorting language. But I'd add to the list:
Destroy communication.
- Reduce the average vocabulary to prevent capacity to express oneself to the other in a comprehensible manner.
- Make deflective arguments (ad hominem, red herring, etc.) popular while at the same time reducing the capacity to recognize them.
- Reduce attention span in order to make it impossible to follow an argument.
- Make bloated and redundant communication popular to obscure underlying arguments.
