I was asked recently which personal attributes I felt had been most instrumental in helping me find success in business; it's a great question and I'm pleased I was asked as it gave me the chance to enlighten someone I feel would benefit from the information. I like inquisitive minds, I'm a person who has one, and I like it when people value knowledge and understanding and know how that will impact on their future.
My answer wasn't easy to give, I had a limited amount of time and there's really so many things that have combined to help me enjoy a successful career, but I tried my best to break it down to the most important few.
I will only mention two attributes, two incredibly powerful ones, that have been cornerstones of my progression towards the attainment of success: Passion and determination.
I do not believe a person can find the success they want without these two things and I remember someone telling me long ago that, "passion and determination can make the impossible possible." I believe it too because I've lived it.
There's many other aspects of course but without the passion to do them and the determination to keep doing them they tend to be less effective.
Success is different for everyone, it's a personal thing, but success, no matter who wants to attain it, doesn't come for free, that's common to us all; there's a price to be paid and sometimes that price is high. There's no guarantee anyone will achieve it no matter how hard they may want it or work towards it, but without passion and determination it's almost certainly not going to happen.
Two words, passion and determination, but if used correctly, they hold so much power.
