"Opinion is the medium between knowledge and ignorance." - Plato
Ask a thousand people and there'd be a thousand different answers.
It's based on location, situation, intelligence, experience, (lack of experience), age, gender, emotional and mental state, financial position, education, familial situation, health and more - it depends on a lot of things combined and not just one.
What matters?
People voice opinions all the time, it seems to be the norm now and social media is where it happens; I guess it's easier to hide behind a keyboard and have strong opinions than have to face someone who may not agree and actually argue a logical case against one's opinion, and it's easy to have strong opinions from behind a keyboard where safety is pretty-much ensured and one can say whatever they like with impunity.
But I wonder...do people's opinions really matter?
I mean, does that opinion matter to those that hear or read it? Do they care? Does that opinion matter in the grand scheme of things generally and does that opinion, taking to the time to think it up, even matter to the person themselves?
My opinion is that, so many of the opinions people have are baseless, unfounded, irrelevant (to them and others) and only voiced to gain a sense of validity and relevance from others because they lack the sense of validity and relevance within themselves. But that's just my opinion.
So...what matters?
I want to know, or would like to know should I say, what matters to you and why.
Feel free to comment briefly below with what you feel matters to you and explain why. It can be anything at all, it's your comment after all.
