What's it in aid of?

Fortunately I was born and raised in Australia where peace reigns; we've been involved overtly in many wars and conflicts such as the Boer War, World War One and Two, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Iraq and Afghanistan, East Timorese conflict and others, plus our people have conducted covert operations in other situations, and still do. I suppose we're like most other countries in that we support our allies and protect our interests.

There's many armed conflicts in the world currently: Cyprus, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Yemen and Western Sahara in the middle East and North Africa for example. Afghanistan, India, Myanmar, Pakistan and The Philippines in the Asian region and in Europe there's the Ukrainian-Russian conflict of course. There's others, not necessarily wars, but conflicts in which one or more groups or organisations battle others but it's probably fair to say that the Russia-Ukraine and the Israel-Hamas conflicts are the most widely known.

I don't watch the news, it's not reliable and is usually simple fabrication -propaganda - it is designed to lead people to think one way or the other, hide the truth or create a 'new truth'. Facts from a battlefield or deep within governments is not easy to come by but propaganda is plentiful. What I know however, is that Australia is providing $52.5 million dollars in humanitarian aid to the beleaguered civilians in Gaza where some 1.7 million people have been displaced and many others are subjected to great hardship and suffering. It's not a lot of money but could do some good...but is it actually reaching and aiding those who need it? Well, that's questionable considering the grip those nutbags in Israel have on the area.

With Europe, Australia's financial commitment to Ukraine is $960 million of which $720 million is military assistance. That's a lot of money...and considering the 120 Bushmaster's (Protected Mobility Vehicle's) we've sent for Ukraine's use are being blown to smithereens by the Russians...well, I wonder what it's in aid of. Considering the aid they're getting from elsewhere, I wonder if someone in Ukraine is pocketing a little here and there...Hmm, I wonder.

Could both of these wars be solved with a sit down and a discussion? Of course! Will they be solved with a sit down and discussion? Nope, not with those four countries, fucken nutbags, all seeking to gain from it...and meanwhile innocent people, civilians, suffer and die.

In Australia there's around 122,000 homeless people with about 21 percent of them being women. Interestingly, a lot of those are veterans the government have discarded. I wonder what $1.05 billion in funding could do to help those people? There's not enough hospital beds in this country which caused hospitals to cancel elective surgeries recently. I wonder what the money sent in support of others might do to alleviate that issue? Hmm, I'm just thinking out loud here, but it seems Australians are being neglected.

I know all too well the suffering war causes to those who fight and the innocent people who happen to be in the wrong place. It's pretty destructive...and yet Israel do what they do...Hamas do the same, as does Ukraine and Russia and everyone else who's currently in a conflict. The thing is, it's not just those people who are in the conflict who are effected by it. Those funds Australia (and other countries) send out, and so much more they have sent away over the years, could do some real good here but it doesn't...and so people suffer.

Is it just me, or does it seems like humans really are quite fucked in the head, generally speaking? I mean, these (and other) conflicts I mention...couldn't we just have a game of soccer and whomever wins gets Gaza or Ukraine? Ok, of course not, but it all seems rather senseless to me and certainly not like humanity is on the right track...seems we're on the fast track to our own demise and it's not just due to this factor of course; but it doesn't look like there'll be an end to those two major conflicts any time soon...how long must it go and what's it in aid of? Greed folks, fucken greed, hubris and ego. #wankers
