The idea of “eight billion tyrants” really captured my attention. We talk about bad leadership, but forget about the culture that rewards it.
We want honesty, but we clap for results gotten by bad means. We say we want fairness, but we admire people who cut corners and win anyway. Maybe corruption survives because it feels efficient in a broken system. This makes me wonder if real progress begins when we stop rewarding outcomes and start rewarding character, even when it costs us something.
