Unlike the majority of the countries where the 26th of December is called boxing day because of some reason, here in the Netherlands the day is called the 'second day of Christmas' and there are two proper days of celebrations and free time off.
This year this actually a really good deal since my last working moments were in Wednesday in the afternoon and then it is only time off until next week.
Christmas eve is starting to get to a bigger kind of thing here nowadays, which is also a good thing actually since that means there are more moments to spread these holidays over.

The funny thing of course is that people were on the phone earlier today with wishing all a merry Christmas while non of us all are religious I believe. So what exactly are we wishing then?
But for Christmas it feels this has nothing to do with it for some reason. There will be celebrations and we will wish each other the best kind of day for it.
All fine by me actually as it means people wishing each other good vibes and doing good stuff for one and another.
Hilarious though
It all feels a bit funny actually as 'all of a sudden' people have their get togethers which they don't have throughout the rest of the year. That means all of these families are not super familiar with each other and the awkwardness comes dripping in by the second and the more wine goes into these people, the most you can see or at least vision it heading towards getting into a scene.
I also remember when I was working in a Childrens hospital years ago that these were the days where the most dog bites on kids would be. Put in way too many people in a room for a way to long period of time, and fluffy gets pulled on his tail all day long and eventually he will bite back. Unfortunately that is often in a kids face and that usuals means a one way ticket to heaven for fluffy which is actually not hilarious at all.
Not so merry right?
Luckily I didn't see any of this just a lot of people wanted to avoid certain discussion topics becaude it will cause a family divorce in the end. No politics, israel-gaza debate or whether your youngster nephew actually wants to do something with his life besides picking is nose and living off of aunties pocket while she caresses he messy hair again and says something like 'not my little Bernard right dear?' and everyone rolls their eyes again because everyone is aware Bernard has knocked up the neighborhood cat again.
Just be the spectator in the room and see what is going on and actually Christmas is pretty damn fun than if you look at it like that.
But today....Today I am just totally chilling and suspensefully waiting for the last 'Stranger Things' episodes to binge until the grand finale next week.
Ow yes, I am enjoying these days off mucho.
Don't let Christmas get to you there kids! Have a merry one!
