Hello Hive Family, and most especially my ever-supportive Hive Friends all over the world! 💖
Today, I want to share a simple yet meaningful reflection about my breakfast; because sometimes, even the humblest meals carry stories worth telling.
This morning, I opened a can of 555 Spanish Style Sardines and paired it with plain white rice. Affordable, filling, and surprisingly delicious; it was enough to start my day with satisfaction.
But here’s the twist: growing up, and even during my years working in Manila, I never touched sardines. Not because I was picky, but simply because I had other food preferences. It wasn’t part of my routine.
Everything changed when I moved to Bulacan in 2022. Out of curiosity (and sometimes necessity when the budget was tight), I tried sardines for the first time. To my surprise, I enjoyed it. Since then, it has become a recurring part of my meals several times a month.
What I once ignored has now become a comfort food, a reminder that tastes evolve, and sometimes life’s transitions bring us closer to simple joys we never expected to embrace.
This little shift in my eating habits reminds me that change often comes quietly. A new place, a new routine, and suddenly, something ordinary becomes extraordinary. Sardines may be inexpensive, but they carry with them the flavor of adaptation, resilience, and discovery.
Thank you, Hive Family, for always being here to read my reflections and share in my everyday stories. Your support makes even the simplest breakfast worth writing about. Until next time, may we all continue to find meaning in life’s small surprises. 💕
