Hello, Hive Friends! Here I am again, writing on the spot before going to bed. It has become part of my nightly routine lately since I’m usually busy during the daytime. I find comfort in sharing these little stories before I sleep. It feels like a warm conversation with all of you.
Yesterday’s merienda was something special. I had my current favorite—Dragon Fruit Coffee. Its unique flavor always gives me that refreshing boost, a perfect balance of fruity sweetness and coffee’s comforting bitterness.
But what made the moment even more memorable was the Piaya. A dear friend of mine, who had just returned from a vacation in her hometown in Bacolod, is now staying in Manila. Because of her busy schedule, she couldn’t personally hand me the Piaya here in Bulacan. Instead, she thoughtfully booked a Lalamove delivery so I could still enjoy it.
The moment I opened the package, nostalgia hit me. It’s been years since I last tasted Piaya, and I truly missed it. That thin, flaky bread filled with muscovado sugar brought back memories of simpler times, and I couldn’t help but savor every bite.
It’s amazing how food can connect us to places and people we love. Yesterday’s merienda wasn’t just about satisfying hunger. It was about reliving cherished memories and feeling grateful for thoughtful friends, even when distance and schedules get in the way.
Thank you, my Hive Friends, for taking the time to read my little late-night story. I always appreciate your presence here. It makes my routine more meaningful. Until my next post, may your days be filled with flavors that bring joy and memories that warm your heart. 💖
