Hello friends, I hope you are all doing well today.
This morning as I stepped out to check on my small garden, I found myself thinking deeply about life again. A few weeks ago, I planted yam inside an empty rice bag. Every day I kept going there, expecting to see something new. But day after day, the soil looked the same. Honestly, I almost lost hope. I even told myself maybe I didn’t plant it well.Today, when I bent down to look closely, I finally saw a tiny green shoot pushing its way out. It may look small, but for me, it carried a big message. In that moment, I realized how often I rush things in life. I always want results immediately, forgetting that growth needs time.
That yam reminded me that not everything shows progress right away. Sometimes the work is happening underground, where our eyes cannot see it. I began to think about my own life. There are times I try hard on something—whether it is personal growth, relationships, or even simple daily goals—and because I don’t see quick results, I get discouraged. But this morning, that little shoot told me to be patient.
Impatience steals our peace. It makes us restless and worried. But when we learn to wait and trust the process, we find more joy in the present. Just like watering the soil without seeing anything, sometimes we have to keep putting in effort, trusting that one day it will show.
Looking back now, I feel grateful I didn’t throw the yam away out of impatience. It is teaching me more than I expected. Life is not about rushing. It’s about caring, waiting, and believing that every seed we plant—whether in the soil or in our daily actions—will one day grow.So today, my reflection is simple: patience is not weakness. It is strength, and it brings peace.
