Sunday there was the annual meeting of Avis.
Listening to the words of the presidency table during the various reports, a few reflections came to mind.
I know, what can I do, I just can't turn this brain off!
I was thinking about how much the world has changed because of Covid and how radically the country where I live, Italy, has done it.
We have changed in habits, some are definitely positive mutations; we are more attentive to many things such as cleanliness and hygiene, some have continued to use masks simply for a prevention speech, in short, some positive changes have been implemented and maintained.
However, I think that in the face of this, everything else has gotten worse.
Speaking of blood donation, we reflected on the drop in donations which, if in full Covid could also be justified by the various restrictions, today, as we are trying to get back to normal, has no valid explanations.
The thing that is perhaps most strange and, as far as I'm concerned, annoying, is a lack of above all collective responsibility which contrasts with an increase in the assumption of responsibility from a personal point of view; Let me explain, surely everyone tries to protect themselves to get better and to avoid taking risks, however, they don't have the same attention towards the community.
Thinking about blood donation, for example, in addition to having had the drop I'm talking about above, one of the situations that occurs most often is that the donors who give us availability the day before, simply and calmly, don't show up the next day without even warning.
In my opinion this is really serious.
Obviously starting from the assumption that the donation is voluntary and that no one obliges anyone, in my view, if you make a commitment then you have to keep it; we must also consider that here we are talking about something that can save a life and, thinking one day of being able to count, for example, on 20 bags of blood and finding 5/8 of them is really a sad thing as well as being a big mess for hospital staff and , above all, sick.
As I said, we're talking about a voluntary gesture, nobody forces anyone, but if you don't want to come, when I call you, instead of saying yes, see you tomorrow, have the courage to tell me no, thanks but I don't want to come, I have other commitments, please tell me on the boxes, in short, you can motivate me as you want or even not motivate me, but not talking bullshit is not responsible and it is not fair to those who are perhaps suffering in a hospital bed!
This is one of the things that comes to mind but, it is clear to everyone, that many things have changed; in my opinion, basically, I think the relationship between people has mainly changed.
Today we hug each other much less, they have given us a phobia of every contact, social distancing has now become something that belongs to society and not a measure adopted in a moment of emergency.
I say "Ci", but it would be more of a "Vi", I at most is something I suffer.
Yes, because if a hug is given to me I never refuse it and if I could I would give it to the world, obviously I don't want to affect anyone's freedom or invade spaces so when I meet people who don't want to be hugged, I don't do it.
One of the last posts talked about how I'd rather die, returning to that topic for a moment, I'm sure of one thing, I'd rather die because I hugged someone and caught the deadliest virus on earth than living 100 years in a world where feelings, affection and love are limited by social distancing and isolation is chosen, in this last scenario I would have died inside anyway.
I've always said that a little loneliness is needed once in a while, but what Covid has developed in many people is fear, distrust, sometimes repulsion towards others.
It was found how the human race fought, united and reacted to the pandemic, in Italy we are all proud of ourselves; I, on the other hand, believe that it should be noted how poor and painful our race is, how much it always takes the worst out of situations.
You say I'm negative, you say I'm exaggerated?
Let's do some history... Pandemic... War!
According to many, the crisis is a consequence of these two things, in reality poverty in most of the world has always existed without putting disease and extermination in the way.
As far as war is concerned, I believe that what history teaches should already have been enough to avoid them, then starting one while the world is trying to get back up from a pandemic demonstrates great wisdom and foresight on the part of the human race; then let's see when we will become extinct and the world will be dominated by cockroaches if someone has to complain in the afterlife!
But yes, maybe it's better to eat something on it!
What you see is the appetizer that they brought us to the social lunch, various local cold cuts and cheeses, onion compote and crouton with 'nduja... it was a truly sumptuous lunch that managed to turn off my brain for a few hours eh huh!
Well, maybe it's better that I stop here for now otherwise I really risk making this reflection of mine an interminable monologue.
Obviously thank you for reading up to this point and I invite you to express your ideas and thoughts in the comments.
Hug you!
