I also love camping, but after the whole last summer in the tent while working on the farm house I believe I will take a loooong break :)
One of the things I like the most when camping is all the stuff you have to think of which you take for granted when being home or at a hotel or apartment. Cooking, cleaning, worming up, sleeping, I believe it is a great experience for any kid or teenager to realize how you do need many more things then just a tent a sleeping bag and a pillow. Also, the contact with nature is priceless.
Lately I amb following the videos of a spanish guy who is doing the challenge to walk arround the world. He posts a video of the journey every evening, videos are in Catalan but also subtitled in english and other languages. He sleeps most of the days in his tent and carries the minimum stuff in his backpack. Planning ahead of time to know where he can get water from public fountains or from food from a small shop or a supermarket, knowing the best walking routes or finding a reasonable and secure place to spend the night in the tent are some of the key issues he faces every day so planning is also a key part of making the camping experience a whole great one.
He is in Croatia right now
