Traditional banking friction

Today I had scheduled several banc transfers to pay for the property we are finally purchasing in Portugal. It is not a big amount but I decided to pay from different accounts to reduce the control over bigger wires, what I did not expect was what ended up happening.

I sent two small wires from one banc and had planned two bigger ones from another banc, I was able to send the first bigger one but when I tried to send the second one I had a warning I was exceeding the daily limit and was suggested to send the second one next day.

I was surprised, it is not a huge amount but I can not decide what I can do with my own money. I am so used to dealing with crypto with custodian wallets and doing whatever I want with my assets, that had completely forgotten this could happen. It is not a big issue as I am not in a rush and can send the final wire tomorrow but it pissed me off and showed me again how much control all financial institutions have over us from indirect governmental impositions.

Last Sunday I was listening to Hive account@cttpodcast recorded on Twitter space. It was life on late Saturday for my timeframe so I listened to the recording. The words about providing freedom from Hive account@theycallmedan which I have always been aligned with, resonated strongly in my head as I suffered them directly today. To me, it was just a small bother that can be solved tomorrow but I could not stop thinking about those unbanked or living in countries where bank access is not so easy. Having a connection to the main crypto asset from Hive when the new BTC DEX is introduced and developing the VSC smart contract platform will be an amazing way to introduce any financial service into Hive, and that can provide big growth to those communities in need which will have an easier way to deal with their assets sending them into any external DEX or Defi service after earning them here.

Those are definitely the ones that will push this decentralized technology forward.
