Everything you point out in this post is of considerable importance. And I especially agree that balance should be the key in everything we do, but I think few people really manage to be balanced.
For example, as you said, we live immersed in content, no one can deny that; but the quality of that content is rarely the best. Worse still, I would venture to say that we currently live immersed in a bubble of seeing, reading, and hearing only what we are willing to accept, only what is in line with what we want and believe. I think no one escapes this, because it is something we do unconsciously.
I believe that we always live and act according to our beliefs, desires, and customs, but unconsciously, trying to occupy our attention in a way that kills our boredom and frustration with so many things happening in the world. And in doing so, we do not always achieve balance.
What are our priorities? I think maybe we don't really know, but we think we know most of the time. Setting priorities involves introspection and analysis, which is why it is important. Until we set our real priorities, I believe we will not be able to achieve balance in anything. This is my opinion on the matter.
