Todays youth are not worried about their health. They are more prone to social media and running for money. Ultimately leading to fatigue, which they never acknowledge. My nephew only 26 years of age is very active in political arena. His work profile ask him to be active most of the time. But when you ask him to do some housework or personal chores he simply denied it due to high level of exhaustion. He unable to get the energy to even mingle with his parents. When I highlighted him the fatigue issue , he is not ready to accept. He used to say its the work. But does all the work so important our health.
Fatigue is highly common in today's generation due to a combination of high stress lifestyles, digital overstimulation, poor sleep habits, and nutritional imbalances. I remember at his age i used to super active but never easily get exhausted. Schooling, sports, market, and study. I used to complete at ease and even after that I get time to a take night walk with my Dad. But seeing my nephew giving up lately put me in a serious thought.
Fatigue is an overwhelming, persistent, and often unexplained feeling of physical or mental exhaustion, lack of energy, and reduced motivation that is not relieved by rest or sleep. It differs from normal sleepiness, significantly impacting daily functioning and quality of life.
Many people overlook these condition, but this can be a serious threat to health in long run. There could be different forms of Fatigue. Some of the common one to highlight are ;
Socially Exhausted : This may happen, when people drain you and a simple conversation may appears to be hard work
Morally Injured : This is mostly occur due to value clash, leaving inner conflict and disappointment.
Creatively stuck : Ideas wont flow put properly, and we feel blank and uninspired.
Burned out : This is what many of the youth are coping with. Too much pressure in life or at work, may leave us empty and detached us from doing what we love most.
Sleep Deprived : Lack of rest makes us slow, irritable and unrefreshed.
Apart from the highlighted forms, these days the youth are dealing with digital fatigue. Our over dependence of technology has i produced the mankind to new form of Fatigue and the upcoming generation are completely ignoring it. They are exhausted their energy in unwanted things by remaining active on social media. Our Digital lifestyle is causes fatigue by overstimulating the brain with constant notifications, information overload, and rapid screen changes, which exhaust mental resources and impair cognitive function.
Youth are unaware of the facts that fatigue is quite serious to our well being. While they assume that the only solution to get rid of fatigue is sleep, but that is not the case. Persistent fatigue is a serious threat to well-being, as it indicates deep physical or mental exhaustion that does not improve with rest, often signaling underlying issues like anemia, thyroid problems, depression, or sleep disorders. I personally believe that rather ignoring the fatigue issue, if fatigue persists despite lifestyle changes, consult a healthcare.
In good faith - Peace!!
