With a four-day weekend, it has been pretty lazy all up. Other than in-laws visiting for lunch yesterday (my wife grilled steaks), we had nothing planned and did very little. It might have been a bit of a waste in some respects, but the weather was drizzly and my wife is ill, so it was okay. The rest of the week might be a bit colder also, so I have put off changing to summer tyres until next weekend perhaps, though that doesn't taker long. I would like to get some of the gardening done.
But I made it to the gym each day.
6/7 for the week for the third week in a row, and at least 4x a week for 17 weeks now. So "lazy" might only be lazy in some capacity. As I was writing last night about taking care of body, mind, emotions, and relationships, I think over the last four days I had largely missed the relationship side of things. Not in the home, but for those outside of home. However, after I got back from the gym I took our dog for a walk and the neighbour happened to be leaving with his dog at the same time, so we walked together and talked about some of the troubles he is having with his boat.
First world problems.
Well, it isn't a fancy yacht or anything and is old, but the outboard motor is on its last legs and he is contemplating whether he changes it now, or sees how it goes over the summer. The problem is, they have their cottage on an island off the coast, so if it does give out on the water, it is going to be a lot of drama. While he is tight with money, he has the money, so I suggested perhaps getting it changed for the peace of mind, since he will have to do that anyway with a lot more pain (and cost) if it gives out on the water.
It was a nice walk, as while it is often sketchy with our puppy as to how he behaves, after some initial nerves, he settled into walking with their French bulldog and he trotted around the neighbourhood for forty minutes. It was a pleasant walk with him, because often it is not so, as he gets yappy from fear around people and dogs, but now I am asking people to stop and pat him so he gets accustomed to a good experience with strangers.
But now with the weekend over, it is time to get geared up for the week ahead, and while I don't have that much to do work-wise, I have a fair bit of trying to do something to drum up some business. The uncertainty in the global everything has made it inevitably harder, and it was already very difficult here. Not too sure where it all ends up, but if something doesn't change soon, things have to change.
No need to worry about any of that - until tomorrow.
Something I thought funny was the answer I got when I asked what Easter Monday was for - because I don't really know the significance.
For many, Easter Monday is a remembrance of Christ's death and resurrection while others use it for Easter Egg hunts and Polka Festivals.
Traditions differ.
