Turns out that we don't really appreciate the level of importance Time has in our life. All things revolve around time. The supremacy of time in all ramifications of life is basically ignored not intentionally but ignorantly. We live in time, there are times and seasons for everything.
You don't do what you want when you want them, you do them when it's time to do them.
I was given a simple daily tracker drafted on an A4 paper. It was just for a day. I used it yesterday to track my activities every 30 minutes. At the end of the day, I realized that I wasted upwards of 5 hours, discussing and scrolling on my phone. From Instagram to lots of other places.
If I put that amount of time into anything, I believe I will achieve a solid milestone, nothing less. That realization sobered me up. And considering that yesterday was Monday and I'm usually productive on Mondays yet that amount of time was wasted. I was afraid to know how much time could be wasted on my less productive days.
Another thing I learnt about time during the weekend is that we think that our lives or things in our environment will get better, improve and even become impressive with time. But that's false. You have to invest time to enrich the value of that time which will guarantee that you move up in levels in your life. Otherwise you will be the same or worse off after a period of time.
The rich spend money to get or recover time. The poor spend time for money.
We know this, we see and hear it in most financial motivational talks. But many people do not understand it. I've been hearing that statement all my life but you have to really think about it to comprehend how you can apply it to your own life. Motivational talk is okay, but its use should be to set us up to practice what we've heard.
The prayer we do now (for those of us that pray) has turned to a lazy man's prayer. It's easier to pray than to read, than to think or brainstorm, than to plan. But doing those things in time sets you up for success in time. There are no shortcuts or two ways about it.
Lastly, deadlines are a gift. Introducing them in your planning or general life. It gives you a sense of urgency, it ignites your passion and forces you to do things in and with time.
How do you spend your time? And what for?
