Failure is a part of life. Sometimes, we think that if we don’t accept that reality, then our delusion will become reality. That is a lie. Failure will come, whether or not you are prepared for it.
What you are to do is to look at failure, and in anticipation of that failure, prepare. We often behave like we have never failed, even after catching the biggest l’s of our own lives.
Someone who does not read his books in anticipation of his bad grades will obviously fail the course. Nobody is going to prepare you for failure. Your failure is your business.
There are two things that make us fail, greed and inconsistency. You are to know your size and be happy with your size. Sometimes, we just want to consume all the information we need at once, in one sitting. It doesn’t work that way. Your life is different.
Now, for inconsistency, I have a few points. First, consistency beats intensity. Just stay on it. Discipline yourself to do what you are to do, even if it is in small bits. Writing 5 pages of a book per day is better than writing 35 pages in one sitting, and then abandoning the book after doing so.
The person who does a little bit everyday is better than the person who does too much in one day. Children grow ‘cos they make attempts, not plans. You never see a kid stay down after falling when they’re trying to learn how to walk. Don’t make too many plans at once, otherwise, you will stress yourself out.
Make plans, change them if necessary, adjust yourself after failure, and get up again. What defines you isn't failure, it’s the way you stand up that defines you.
