We All Know What We Are Doing
The truth is that every one of us knows what we are doing. Someone wicked definitely knows what they are doing. This is common in relationships. You claim you love someone, yet you afflict them. You talk behind their back and paint them as if they are less than human. It is in our nature to backbite and change narratives only to suit our purpose.
A cheater knows what he is doing and why he engages in it, and most times, he even enjoys it. I once heard from a friend who was treated badly simply because the person knew she had nowhere to go. Humans will always be human. I learned from the way she was treated, to the extent that the person who maltreated her even confided in someone else, saying she could not go anywhere even if he did worse to her.
That is life for us. Once people realise you are at their mercy, they do all kinds of things. In the end, if you eventually succeed, they play the victim, recounting what they did for you when you had nothing.
In Everything God Created, Humans Are the Worst
We know that animals in the bush behave erratically by eating one another. The powerful prey on the weak and devour them whole. We know of fish in the river that feed on other fish. Many animals prey on others for survival.
But we humans are often worse. When it comes to being cunning, we rank first. We act holy on the outside, yet within us, we can be devils in human clothing. When it comes to betrayal, we lead. We sell off friends as long as it benefits us in the end.
We act upright, yet our hearts are full of wickedness. Talk about greed, we carry the trophy. You see someone diverting what is meant for millions of people, all in the name of wealth acquisition. You see leaders consuming money meant for their constituency and giving only a little to those in their caucus.
We are the worst. Many of us claim holiness but are full of dishonesty. The saddest part is that the younger generation is learning from our corruption. It is a shameful world.
We Know What We Want
A lot of us pretend to be innocent or claim we do not understand certain things. Many of us frame ignorance while acting as if we are neutral. People who enter relationships often already know what they want from them. They do only what benefits them, without considering the other party involved.
We can deny it all we want, but it is the truth.
How about those who never see the good in what someone does, yet still want your support? In this life, you will see a friend support others, but when it comes to you, they become jealous and act as if you are not doing enough, especially when you begin to succeed.
Why I Don’t Blame People
I do not blame people who look for partners within their own category. The reason is simple: people who are in the same class or share similar values often do not mind if you are doing well. But those who believe you should not be doing certain things will always resist your progress.
Humans will always be human, no matter what we try to do. I am not saying this because I am perfect. I am saying it because we should learn to manage ourselves. We cannot live in this world alone. We cannot survive on our own.
Though we come into this world alone and will one day leave alone, we still need one another while we are here.
