Making ends meet these days has become difficult, if not nearly impossible. So many things are happening at once and at different intervals. If anyone talks about cryptocurrency now, it almost feels like a dead-end investment. The stock market is not any more reassuring either; everything seems to be going upside down. Making money today has become something one must be highly intentional about. It is getting harder to earn meaningfully, especially when it does not involve the traditional systems many of us grew up depending on.
Nobody becomes truly wealthy on salary alone
The truth is, it is difficult to become wealthy if you rely solely on salary. In most cases, it is not sustainable in the long run. It is like sitting on a time bomb and hoping it never explodes. Some even say salary is designed to make you forget your dreams. But the other side of the conversation is this: not everyone can become an entrepreneur overnight. Entrepreneurship requires capital, support, resilience, and, in many cases, access. Unless you come from a financially stable background or have investors who believe in your vision, succeeding as an entrepreneur can be a real uphill battle.
A pay cheque is no longer enough
If you truly want to rise above survival, you must be willing to adopt smart strategies. You have to manage your finances intentionally, diversify your efforts, and avoid depending on one source of income alone. Yet, even that is easier said than done. When you have multiple streams of income, the challenge becomes how to manage them all effectively without one affecting the other.
Personally, I had to get involved in processing the cassava we planted and make sure it worked out without falling into debt. It has not been easy. As seen in the images above, I even had to source firewood by myself. Farming, like every honest hustle, is demanding. But if we must put food on our tables, then we have to keep doing what we can, the best way we can. One day, this hustle will pay off, and we will stand in the freedom we have worked so hard for.
