In this life, and from the experiences I have had, I have realized that humans are among the most terrible creatures we have ever known in the history of the universe. When I say humans, I am not trying to separate myself, we are all the same. It only depends on how things are going in our lives and how people around us respond to us.
We have a lot of bitter people around us, and most times, they fail to see anything good in what others do. The funny thing is, it doesn’t mean they are not doing well. I have seen people who are rich and still bitter about someone else’s breakthrough. What do we call that kind of attitude? Should we call it envy? Why is the human heart so full of evil, constantly devising wrongdoing?

We live in a world where war is treated as peace, and the absence of it is seen as calamity and disaster. We see humans prey on other humans, the weaker ones. People flex their strength when they encounter those below them, often making them feel inferior.
To echo what the Bible says about life being a warfront or battlefield is accurate when describing what is happening among us. We are so flawed that when we benefit from evil or questionable practices, we speak less about it. Yet, we are quick to point fingers at others when they do the same or even worse, especially when we are not benefiting from it. The truth is, none of us is a saint. The idea that one must be without sin to cast the first stone still holds. We can not keep claiming holiness when our actions prove otherwise.
Some people are quick to condemn wrongdoing, which is good. But when they benefit from the same wrongdoing, they remain silent. Are they not hypocrites? Many of us are hypocritical, especially when we are not benefiting. We may know someone is a thief, yet we keep quiet because “he is our thief,” just like many of our leaders do.
Who can truly make things better in this world? Perhaps someone without ties, someone who has no family to be threatened when they choose to do the right thing. Sometimes, the world feels so broken that I wonder if it is even worth raising a child in it.
I think the family is where many of the world’s problems originate. Why do I say this? Most crimes are committed by individuals who belong to a family. Everyone is connected to a family, whether abandoned or distant from them. Before the government, we have families, friends, colleagues, and communities. You see parents who are unable to guide their children for various reasons. You see children fending for themselves. Why wouldn’t such children do whatever it takes to put food on their table?
We are all responsible for what is happening in our society today, through both our actions and our inactions. We are all culpable. It is when the smallest unit of the human race begins to change and take responsibility that we may start to see a difference. When we learn to love one another, we will not think of harming others.
Then, we may rid ourselves of evil and stop judging or mocking people. The reason many are afraid to speak up is the fear of being mocked or rejected by those they care about.
Life is what it is, and we must live with love and cherish the moments we have in this world. We can not leave this world until our time is up.
