Today, I found a butterfly inside the laboratory where I work. I couldn’t help but wonder—does a butterfly ever worry about how little time it has?
I bet it doesn’t.
Some butterflies live only a week, others just a few days, yet they never seem to rush. They live in the moment—dancing with the wind, exploring, and inspiring those lucky enough to catch a glimpse of their fleeting beauty.
Isn’t that something?
We humans live for decades, yet we are always in a rush. Rushing to grow up. Rushing to finish school. Rushing to become successful. Rushing to acquire wealth and property.
And in the process, we often forget to actually live.
We’re so busy chasing dreams—for our families, for ourselves, and sometimes just to meet ends—that we barely pause to breathe. We miss the small, beautiful details that make life meaningful.
We sacrifice time with loved ones:
—Parents growing older.
—Our children's childhoods passing in a blur.
—Relationships drifting apart.
And yet, ironically, we wait for the perfect time to start living.
But life doesn’t wait for us. It moves forward, whether we can keep up or not.
Butterflies remind us that you don’t need a long life to live a meaningful one.
You just need to embrace the moment you have now—to live it with purpose, with beauty, and with love.
To never be afraid to fly, even if your wings feel fragile.
Explore the world. Dance with the wind. Make your short time count.
We only have today.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
So be like the butterfly. 🧡
