A temporary lunch stop. This is an extremely dangerous river during rainy times. An important water catchment area for the Wellington Region area. This picture was taken as the rains started and the river levels was low. I had plenty of time to set up a shelter, fire up the cooking system, make breakfast and filter 2 Litres of water from a nearby stream, the main reason for this stop. Now was the time to pack up, do the river crossing, head up the river bed for another 6km, before turning inland and setting up my campsite for the next 2 nights.
A magical place with glow flies going in and out of the bush along side the river. It's late evening and the rays of the moon lights up the forest. The dark shadow of a hike can be seen setting up camp.
Yes I suck at this LoL but one day I'll get better.
