A few days ago, I visited the Jacobo Borges Museum in Caracas, Venezuela. I came across a very interesting exhibition that caught my attention. The artist behind all the pieces on display is a professor at the art university where I currently study. The professor, Jesus Luciani, presents a pictorial series inspired by the "Mind-Heart" dichotomy, exploring elements of painting such as form, brushstroke, texture, and line based on the range of blues and reds, colors that, in their respective tones, denote the visual perception of warmth and coldness. Hace pocos días visité el museo Jacobo Borges ubicado en la ciudad de Caracas, Venezuela, me encontré con una exposición muy interesante que capto mi atención, ya que el autor de todas las piezas exhibidas es un profesor de la universidad de artes donde actualmente estudio. El profesor se llama Jesus Luciani y nos presenta una serie pictórica inspirada en la dicotomía "Mente-corazón" donde explora elementos de la pintura como la forma, la pincelada, la textura y el trazo en función de la gama de azules y los rojos, colores que en sus respectivas tonalidades denotan la percepción visual de lo cálido y frio.
This exhibition, titled "Reason vs. Heart," muse of the cosmos, is a neo-figurative series where the artist interprets the image of the brain as thought, reason, mind, using the blue color palette, in contrast to the image of the heart as feeling, emotion, which corresponds to the red color palette, contrasting the harmony between the shape and color of both vital organs. Esta muestra titulada "Razón vs Corazón" musa del cosmos, es una serie neo-figurativa donde el artista interpreta la imagen del cerebro como pensamiento, razón, mente, usando la paleta del color azul, en contra posición a la imagen del corazón como sentimiento, emoción, que corresponde a la paleta del color rojo, contrastando la armonía entre la forma y el color de ambos órganos vitales.
The works explore a kind of picturesque interaction between the warmth of feeling and the coldness of thought, evoking the union of opposites in the Yin-Yang philosophy. The color represents a duel of sensations that configure the interaction between the brain and the heart as a fundamental principle of the human being, allowing the viewer to delve into their inner cosmos to appreciate existence. I truly love visiting museums and appreciating art; this activity nourishes my creative process and inspires me to continue growing and creating. I hope you enjoy this post. Good vibes. Las obras exploran una especie de interacción pintoresca entre lo cálido del sentir y lo frio del pensar, que evoca la unión de los contrarios de la filosofía YING-YANG; el color representa un duelo de sensaciones que configuran la interacción entre cerebro y corazón como principio fundamental del ser humano, permitiendo al espectador adentrarse en su cosmos interno para apreciar el existir. De verdad me encanta visitar los museos y apreciar el arte, esta actividad nutre mi proceso creativo y me inspira a seguir creciendo y creando; espero que este post sea de su agrado, buenas vibras.
