One of my pals opened up a new record location in Cleveland, moving down the street to be more correct, but here are some new vinyl finds from my visit to the Mistake By The Lake Record Shop in Cleveland!
Kay Gee The All
"She's A Dog"
1987
Kay Gee isn't necessarily the most well known MC from the 80s, but he was a member of the COLD CRUSH BROTHERS back in the early 80s and they had a handful of records over the years. This record has four cuts on it and they are all hot in my opinion!
Cool Rob G
"Show Me"
1990
Cool Rob G had a certified classic under his belt (court is now In session), but I've never really seen any of those records or heard his other cuts, so I scooped this one up without listening to it. It's got that jazzy and positive sound from before the gangsters took over the rest of the 90s.
Young & Restless
"B Girls"
1990
Now we travel to Miami to get a slice of that Florida style from Young & Restless, who even had a music video for their song-always a great when it comes to these forgotten groups with only minor hits. Check out that MC Hammer fashion style!
Eerk & Jerk
"Eerk & Jerk"
1991
Can't say that I had heard of these two.. Seems like kinda a miami bass novelty act? They put out one record and this was the gig single, I guess. Not sure I'm really into the...dee lite aesthetic?
But it was the early 90s, so there's not much to appreciate, fashion-wise
... What is this, though, hobo-chic??
Imagine being ok with that being the back of your record...?
Thanks for reading, I hope you liked my post!
