While walking along the beach in Étretat early in the morning, I came across this small wooden hut.
It looked like an old, abandoned fishermen’s shack, standing quietly by the sea, with no one around. Something about it caught my eye.
There was a peaceful, nostalgic feeling to it, like it’s been watching the waves for years, slowly becoming a part of the landscape.
Later I did some small research and found out that these kinds of wooden shacks were once used by local fishermen to store their boats, nets and tools.
Many of them are no longer in use, but some still remain, reminding us of the time when life here was all about the sea.
Some have been restored or turned into tiny museums, but others – like this one – just stand still, weathered by salt, wind and sun. Perfect to take some pictures and feel the time behind.
It was a beautiful and quiet morning. Only a few people walking along the beach so I really could enjoy the time spending there.
