Taking inspiration from R. Buckminster Fuller, McKinley Underwood designed this "triodetic dome" that is currently home of the Bloedel Conservatory. Inside the plexiglass and aluminum dome, there are over 500 plants and over a hundred bird species that fly freely in the lush tropical ecosystem within. From this vantage point, you can see the north shore mountains in the background.
